The Active Volcano
The
Active Volcano is the home of Ember, the Elemental
of Fire, to the South, and is the seat of his power. The cataclysmic flames
of the Volcano lie in the far southern reaches of the Mountains, a tall
peak rising above all others, spewing forth flames and ash for hundreds
of miles around it. Somehow within its fiery depths Ember lives, eternally
burning but never consumed. This is not a place where mortals ever come;
to even approach the place would mean destruction in the flows of fiery
lava and searing rain of hot ash, if one managed to approach that closely
without being destroyed by the mindless all-consuming rage of its only
inhabitant. Ember is quite mad, and will strike out in rage with all the
force of his considerable power at anyone or anything that approaches
his home, which is in a way also his prison. He rarely ever leaves the
inferno of the Volcano, in part due to the intervention of the remaining
two Elementals, who seek to prevent the destruction that his wandering
would cause throughout the Lands.
