The Central Desert
The
central Desert of the Lands is a barren, empty place, practically devoid
of life. There are fields of sand dunes and endless rock-strewn hills,
all of the same sandy-beige color, which eventually trail off into a swamp
at the far northeast edge. It is large, dry, and monotonous. The only
features worth mentioning within the place are the Tower
of the Elementals which lies in the exact center of the Lands, and
the Chasm, a miles-wide hole through the world
off to the southwest. Other than that, the desert is, well, deserted.
And boring. It isn't particularly *hot*, just dry and lifeless and empty
and lonely. No one much cares to traverse it, unless the have to, and
the only real reason to do so would be to visit the Tower, which is not
something undertaken lightly. In all, it is largely unexplored, and best
avoided.
